As always Monday was my rest day, I really do try and do nothing at all apart from walking though town at lunchtime!
Tuesday 30th April 2019
Tuesday was a strength training day with the sister in the gym. I love the fact that we are both in our London pants and also how different they look! I’m wearing capri’s I swear!!
Wednesday 1st May 2019
Wednesday was a quick (seriously quick as it was just us two) run up and down Douglas prom during lunch. 2.56 Miles of which both were in the 10 min miles!! Still amazed at how fast I am running lately.
Thursday 2nd May 2019
Thursday was another day in the gym strength training, my aim over the coming weeks is to try and get more photo’s of me doing the training sessions we are going through. This TRX is well scary. You just clip it into a portal on the roof and your good to go! I always panic it’s not going to take my weight so I never really know if I’m doing the weights properly or not!!
I also spent the night doing a quick pack for our weekend trip away to Liverpool for the Liverpool Spring 5K & 10K (race report to come on both soon!) I normally pack rather minimally and I found it really hard this time what with the racing costumes and the extra shoes!!

So Friday was on the boat day in the afternoon after half a day at work and then the best recce run ever! The night before I had done a quick google map play for a run around Sefton Park as we knew we wanted to get a little run in, well it wasn’t long before I started noticing that the park was perfect to make a suggestive picture! Turns out it was a lot harder to do that I thought, we got lost once, hence the little kick up at the top and then while we were looking at the map figuring out which way to go our other sister continued on down the path, hence the line inside! Overall though it was a good run a bit a lot longer than we wanted!! I was only hoping for a 5K!

Saturday was the Liverpool Spring 5K and I don’t want to say much as I will be doing a Race Report!
Sunday 5th May 2019
Sunday was the Liverpool Spring 10K and as with the 5K I don’t want to say much as I will be doing a Race Report.
We came back home on the Sunday afternoon boat so didn’t have much downtime sadly. This week was more about ticking my fitness over and having a really good time while we were away. I’ve got a “break” week prior to the Harbour to Harbour walk and then it will be the Liverpool Run Rock’n’Roll so not much downtime this month!
So after the amazing PB that I got on the Liverpool Springs 5K, I knew I wanted to do my best during this 10K, especially as it was my second and there was potential that I could beat my time.
My flatlay was done the night before to make sure I had everything I needed. We normally try and wear the supermanx for all the half’s we do as it’s a consistent outfit, plus it saves up having to come up with something every time, anyhow we decided that we’d wear it for the 10K this time.
We got up early, ordered the taxi and then watched the rain, OMG it was lashing it down. We couldn’t belive it.
We packed our bags and was still waiting for the taxi………………yeahhhhhhhh the taxi, the less we say the better. We ordered a taxi two hours before the event so that we would get their early. Turns out that wasn’t early enough.
We got into our taxi half an hour before the start of which we got to the start with our luggage 5 minutes before it was going to start.

All I could think about was how time was catching up with us. I decided to check on the other two trucks and noticed one was going quicker so we legged it to that one and dropped our luggage off. While we we’re there one of the guys radio’ed back and said they couldn’t start as there was too many people at bag check.
At that time the “official” start time had come and gone!
After dropping off our luggage we raced to the start line and manoeuvred our way up to my “estimated” time.
How cool is the pacer!!!!? She was amazing and had a little music box with her to keep everything going. I was really interested in how she kept pace with two watches which beeped at her if she went over a pace or below a pace.
The race itself started off great, that first mile I felt great, the second amazing by the third I felt like I could continue at that pace forever, oh how that didn’t last.
On the 4th mile I started to feel tired and was dreaming of doing a slower pace, mile 5 was slightly less speed but this is where my moaning started to get out. I seriously cannot think what came over me but I was not the person anyone would want to run with at all.
On mile 6 I was awful, I was crying constantly because the pace was to much and complaining while telling my sister to F’off because she could run at this pace no bother, which just made me even more mad.
Everything really came to a head when someone who must of been a friend with “field mouse” jeered at us….yeahhhhhhh you should never tell anyone they are doing “shit” while running a race, I subsequently told him to F’off very VERY loudly. To this day I still cannot believe anyone would say that to anyone even if you know them or not.
Well I survived the race! It is very bittersweet for me, I got my PB amazingly. My chip time was 1:09:09 which is a PB off just over 4 minutes. Hands down that is amazing but what I put my sister through and “field mouse” through wasn’t worth that at all, in no shape or form.
I apologised immensely, but that will never be enough.
Thankfully I have learned my lesson a PB isn’t worth that. As soon as I started to show real struggle and not just the going to getting tough I should of backed down. I was going to PB anyway at the rate we were running at the start so if I backed off for the last two miles I would of made it. I think having the stress at the start of the race probably didn’t help but that isn’t any suitable excuse.
Overall both the 5K and the 10K were amazing. I loved both runs and depending on how everything falls I can see myself doing them again, because how could I not, that bling was pure gold lol.
Liverpool Springs oh how excited we were for you! We had arrived the day before to our amazing AirBnB which we WILL be staying in again hopefully for next year! Especially if we do the Liverpool Springs again!
The night before I got all my stuff together. I had managed to persuade my sisters once again that we needed to dress up, and especially so as it was the 4th of May, you can kinda guess what theme we went with……….May the 4th be with you lol. I found the t shirt on eBay and new instantly it would go with out Tikiboo pants.
We got to the event kind of early because our Airbnb was literally just around the corner, which turned out great. We got a couple of photo’s taken with the local radio station and a lovely one of us all together.
There wasn’t anything to do at the start point apart from just hover in the sun, though we did pretend to be kids and get glitter put on us.

The course itself was actually really good, all set with Sefton Park which made it great, it also had a couple of hills which I wasn’t prepared for!
I felt the run itself we by very fast, I don’t know why but as soon as I was on that start line I was telling myself that I was going to PB. I tried to talk myself out of it as well this was my first “official” 5K, even though I had done countless 5K’s in training and Park Runs. Even more so because the day after I would be doing my second 10K and wanted a PB. Nothing worked and I ended up just going for it!
I’m still amazed that I PB’ed the course, I cannot even get my head around it. My goal for 2019 was to get my 5K time to below 35 minutes and I smashed that by doing a time of 32.54!!!
I loved this course and would recommend it for anyone.
